When darkness falls upon this land,
I take my pen into my hand,
The things I feel, the sounds I hear,
I then relate to far and near.
The light of day is fading fast,
Our daylight hours have been surpassed.
No traffic, stirs, the roads are bare
No person is seen anywhere.
The world has stopped just for the night,
It will start again at the first light.

The dawn is .here, the night is gone.
The sun is waking it rises anon,
The black sky turns to misty grey
And heralds the start of a new day.
The sun has reached to its full size
And people now begin to rise,
The dew is seen, the birds they sing
To welcome what the day might bring.
