The Photographic Club resumed its activities again this term after the summer holidays. During the holidays fine new equipment had arrived, providing a sound basis on which to develop, print and enlarge negatives and prints.

We must admit that we were rather surprised that not every boy took advantage of the photographic club to get his films developed and printed. (If he goes to a chemist to have his films developed and printed, it will cost him 14/- for 3 films, whereas if he joins the photographic club he has to pay 3d. a week and 2/- for paper sufficient to print three 120 size films, a total of 2/3d. so he saves 11/9 which is quite a nice sum of money.) After Christmas a boy may, if he likes, join for only a week at any part of the term, or, if he likes, he can join for the whole term paying a total subscription of 2/6d. However the boy that joins for a term goes to film shows and other activities free whereas the weekly boy has to pay.

This brings us very nicely to the subject of film shows. This term a total of four films have been shown, "Out of the dark," "The Puddle Muddle Mystery", and two films made by Fr. Ignatius of the opening of the school and the consecration of the church. These were shown to a fair sized audience. Unfortunately there were a few small technical hitches and we take this opportunity of apologising for any annoyance this may have caused.

Finally we come to the subject of the magazine, although to be quite honest it would be true to say it was really a leaflet, going under the title of ‘Snap Chat’ it was designed to appeal to all the boys in the school, whether in the photographic club or not. It sold very well and we hope to bring out a larger copy early in the new year.

Our thanks go to Fr. Dominic , Fr. Ignatius, and Mr. Tufnell for their help during these, the infant days of the photographic club.

N.B. If any boy wishes to join entry forms are available from me.
