A Complaisant School

I came into this school
But all was quiet and still
‘twas then I saw that all were sound asleep
And then came men who roused them from their sleep
But soon to slumber they returned
But then I saw a boy amidst the crowd.
He rose and bade his friend do too
And together they did try to wake the rest
But they in turn returned to sleep
For most not life but neo death did wish to know.
I shouted to them, "Arise, awake!"
But I was cut short by their reply
"Tell them, not I."
