School v. St. Gregory's
This match took place after school on 7th February. It appears to be the first time that the school has played another school at Chess, so history was made. The result was a 6 2 win for us. Winners were: O’CALLAGHAN, HARRIS, ARDUINO, O’GORMAN, ROSSI, ROBINS. Losers were CRYAN and COOK. It was a good match and we look forward to visiting St. Gregory's soon for the return match.

The Swiss Tournament
There are twenty taking part in this invitation tournament. Those included will doubtless form the nucleus of any school team for some time to come but this should not deter others from practising hard. (No doubt there is a lot of talent in the Upper School but it is not much in evidence at present.) After four rounds, O’CALLAGHAN is in the lead in the Swiss. See the school, notice board for latest positions.

School v. Parents
We welcomed a team of parents to play a team composed of staff and boys on Friday, April 6th, and this proved to be a very enjoyable match. Result was a win for the School, 8˝ - 4˝. This appears very decisive but it is worth noting that the last two games to finish were very closely fought indeed and up to that point it was 6˝ - 4˝.
