The St. Georges Cross Country is one that we have been competing in now since 1948 with considerable success, we went this year as I holders of the Junior Cup and returned with it, and with a little luck could have won the Senior Pup also.

In both these events all six runners count, so every member of the team has to run to win. I was fortunate enough to get out on the course, and found the familiar faces of Handley and Miller well out in front. I was pleasantly surprised to find McDonald well up also, and close behind Kemp, O'Leary and Kelly. The result lay between St. Georges and ourselves, and the final results showed us five points ahead of our old rivals.

Team positions: Handley 1st. Miller 2nd. McDonald 9th. Kemp 12th. O'Leary 16th. Kelly 18th. Total 58 points.

The Seniors ran extremely well when one considers that four of them are only fourteen years of age, and this in a race for those under sixteen. Flockton again ran very well and again lead the team home in his own competent way. A word of praise here to Dorling, who finished the course though in obvious pain, and to all the others who ran so well. Next year I am certain that we can win this event.

Team positions: Flockton 3; Kelly – 14; Clubbe – 18; Clifford – 19; O'Shea – 23; Dorling 27; Total – 104 points.
Senior Results: St. Georges 97; Ewell Castle 100; Salvatorian 104.
