Joe

When happy Joe walked down the road,
All people threw stones at him,
But hands in pocket out he strode,
And bore the pain with a big grin.
He often walked mile after mile,
And people threw stone after stone,
But he just gave a cheery smile,
And never let out with a moan.
People began to spit on him,
And he got wetter and wetter,
Until he cursed their every limb,
Then people smiled, "Ah, that's better".
