Willesden Green

M. Casey, Form IIIA.

Just mention the name of Willesden Green,
To anyone from tramp to Queen,
And I am sure they will all agree
There's a great excess of polyglottery.
Hindu, Moslem, Jamaican and Jew,
And one musn't forget the Irishman too,
Each has left his own great Nation
To pack in between Neasden and Willesden Green Station.
In spite of the crowds, it's a happy, place,
Most have a pleasant smile on their face,
But when a 260 comes in sight
You must view the place in a different light.
Grow up men and women too,
Pushing and shoving their way up the queue,
Each wants to board that bus; no matter what.
And a torrent of abuse is the conductor's lot.
London Transport will have to reform
To put an end to this raging storm.
Willesden Green's the worst stop to my knowledge
Except perhaps for the stop at the College.
