Hockey - 1965

Even though team spirit was excellent and every game played had its high moments of drama and comedy, the game still suffers from lack of support. Prejudice against hockey is still high but there is a sign of change. More and more boys are seeing the advantages of playing the game and joining us.

Last year, inter-school matches followed in rapid succession. Under the captain, Francis Rawson, the team played Finchley Grammar School, St. Mary's College, the Commercial Traveller's School and a fast, very enjoyable game with the Salvatorian Old Boys.

This year, the future lies hopefully ahead. As most of the team were members of the Upper Sixth last year a new team had to be formed to replace those who left. The progress of our new team is very encouraging.

So, hockey looks ahead with optimism and hope for a good season of friendly matches.

L. Robinson (Captain).
