Ski-ing

On Boxing day, a party of 52 boys will depart on an adventurous 10 day ski-ing holiday in the Swiss Alps. This is our third visit to the Hotel Waldheim, where in the past two years we have been made very welcome and the proprietors have put themselves out to provide the maximum enjoyment possible for our party. The success of our last two visits has been due largely to the magnificent effort of these cheerful hospitable people.

At 8 a.m. on New Year's day, our party will leave on the excursion to the Pizol ski-ing fields. Here, at an altitude of 10,000 feet, the members of our party, considered by the instructors to be sufficiently proficient, will take the test for the Swiss Bronze medal.

This visit is a thrilling experience, for here, the breathtaking excitement of ski-ing at its best can be witnessed. Minute dots from high above enlarge, at an alarming rate, twisting and turning, in their descent, finally emerging in the shape of human form exhibiting beautiful balance and control of the, body.

We have to hope the weather will be kind, providing us with good ski-ing conditions so that this, the largest party we have taken, will have as enjoyable a time as those before.
