Swimming

We are entering the third year of swimming instruction in the school and it is gratifying to note that the number of those unable to get their feet off the bottom is now very few.

When swimming was first introduced into the curriculum at least 50% of the school were non-swimmers and it is particularly gratifying to see that this serious deficiency is now practically eliminated. Whilst it is the aim of the school to ensure that everyone can swim, it should then be the aim of every individual to improve in style and performance by diligent thought and practice.

The number of A.S.A. awards for survival swimming gained in the school since we started is about 50. This includes 10 Silver and 9 Gold awards. It is to be hoped that many more boys will be sufficiently interested to make this number very much larger.

This year, in our entry for Harrow Schools Swimming Gala, our Junior Team was successful in winning the competition. They are to be congratulated on a fine performance and we look to them for more successes in the future.
