Mr. Shovelton - is he working on new cartoons
or on another "field day"?
Geographical Society

The society has been reorganised to operate in a more flexible way. There is now no subscription and meetings are arranged only when there are specific projects to be worked on. In the normal Geography classes, the teacher suggests further work which requires more time and space, e.g. mapping, modelling, scrap-books and tape recording. Any boys who wish to follow up these suggestions in a practical way can meet at 4.00 p.m. on Fridays in the Geography Room.

At present it is the advanced level students who are making the most of this arrangement. The Lower Sixth meet to work on a local study of part of the Chilterns, involving library research and fieldwork; the Upper Sixth are similarly involved in individual fieldwork projects which require special mapping and statistical diagrams. The tracing table hardly ever cools down!

Mr. Shovelton and Mr. Bayross are always at hand to give any advice that may be required.
