Delights Of Youth

E.C. Rose

The dying shrieks
In cannibal creeks
        Of half-digested men;
        Eviscerated buccanneers,
        Emasculated pioneers;
And like to these in thy worst, foulest dreams,
        Putrescent corpses in a reeking pit
Do rise and clutch thee, giving raucous screams
        And smear thy visage with their bloody spit.
        Rancid odour,
        Foetid breath,
                Swift convulsion,
                Sudden death.
        Scrunch! Vengeance! Life!
        Death! No!
        Catalepsy catastrophic!
        Catalysmic cineration! ! !.
