For individuals, one remembers many fine innings by Dury, particularly his 95 against Hampton; Tobin's 75 against King's and Murray's innings in an attempt to force a draw against Canon Slade. For the colts Concannon and Pennicott batted consistently well, but Dawson's 33 and Ferry's 34 both made against Pinner, must be mentioned as examples of how runs can be scored if the batsman decides to get on top of the bowler. Ferry's 6 over the top of the school was one of the biggest hits seen at Pinner. Matthew's 28 against Kynaston was an innings promising that he will have many more good knocks for the school.
Of the bowlers, Murray must first be mentioned as the bowler who improved most during the season. With Shaw bowling fast at one end and Murray bowling medium pace seamers at the other, we have a very useful opening attack. Shaw's 7-28 against Kynaston, Murray's 7-18 against Finchley, Redican's 7-25 against Harrow, Ferry's 8-6 against Wembley and K. Wilson's 9-6 against Cardinal Vaughan were all good performances.
The most outstanding performance of the season was that of D. Dury being selected for Middlesex Grammar Schools as wicket keeper. His performance was outstanding in each of the county games and has made this position his own. At the close of the current season, 4 caps were presented by the Association and we are proud to record that one of these caps was given to David Dury for his all-round excellence.
In all, the school played 59 games and won 27 of them. This would not have been possible but for members of staff and several parents giving up their time to umpire and help with transport and catering. I am grateful to all those who helped to make the season a success.
Much of the team's success this year has been due to the leadership of C. Clubbe, who has been captain for a number of years. He has led the team with growing confidence and imagination. Games have been won because of our bowling strength. Given adequate batting, it is bowling that wins matches. Unfortunately, Saturday morning cricket tends to be defensive as the time is so short. More results could be achieved if we played more afternoon cricket. The middle order batting looks rather brittle against good bowling. Next season there must be more fight when we come against good bowling. Dury topped the batting averages with 279 runs.

This team played some enjoyable cricket and several players gained regular 1st XI places.
U.15 XI Captain D. Dury

This was the school's most successful and talented team.
