The Hockey Club

The greatest difficulty facing the Club is the lack of support for the game among local schools. There were in the whole season only two school matches; both of these were against Brookside and the honours were evenly shared.

The major source of interest in the game resulted from a six-a-side inter-house competition. This was a keenly contested tournament, it was won by Becket.

If the Club has been disappointed in obtaining fixtures, it has been greatly encouraged by the Friends of the Salvatorians who have generously provided a dozen hockey sticks. Now, being so well equipped and benefiting from such enthusiasm for the game, we are anxiously hoping for many more outside fixtures.

Our grateful thanks is due to Fr. Eric for his outstanding patience and untiring interest.
