Hair-growing Competition 1968-'69
(Judged by A. Scott.)

All modern schoolboys seem to share
The age-old problem of long hair.
Can they be jealous masters who
In baldness say "Be like us too."
Perish the thought, one must be fair,
And some of them still have some hair.

It seems, in all the better schools,
That one of the most cherished rules
Is "Boys must keep their hair cut short."
So it remains a common sport.
To see who longest dares to wear
His long, thick, straggling, unkempt hair.
