Under 12s Report

The U.12s had two regular district players, Carr and Leaky.

In the opening six matches we were very successful until losing 8-1 to Harrow Weald in the seventh. This defeat seemed to unsettle the team and it lost the next two matches very narrowly. Our midfield players pulled the side together again, the defence tightened up and the forwards found new rhythm. As the season progressed the team went from strength to strength, although we had our disappointments like losing 3-4 to Finchley Grammar, and 4-5 to Willesden High.

In the local cup, we beat Belmont 5-0 in the second round, having had a bye in the first, to reach the semi-final against Harrow Weald. This, our best match of the season, went to extra time, although all admitted we were unlucky to lose. We wish to express our thanks to Mr. Mustoe, who refereed many of our home matches, and to our team manager, Mr. Hartin, who had great confidence in us. We now know that as the season wore on he quite expected us to win the Harrow Cup and League, as we in fact did.

Team: Ryan, Moore, Kilcoyne, Butler, Carr (Capt) Leaky (V.Capt.), Philpott, Chafer, Gibbons, Mustoe, Taylor, Maloney.

Taylor & Gibbons.
