Loz Ford
Football - First Team
It was on a wet and overcast afternoon, on the last day of term, that the Middlesex Cup final had been scheduled to be played. Transport in the form of the school minibus and a convoy of staff cars ensured our prompt arrival. Some enthusiastic boys had cycled down from Harrow to lend their support.
The match started in the drizzle, making for some sluggish play by the Salvos. Don Lucas injured himself in the early stages of the match which may account for some of his missed opportunities but he recovered sufficiently to put in some good play in the second half. The rest of the first half continued in much the same vein as it had begun. It was not until the second half that Ealing scored and put the pressure on Salvatorian, who, true to form came back into the game to even up the score.

Periods of sluggishness still punctuated the play but with victory in our grasp and a large turnout of vociferous supporters the Salvos were spurred on to score the winning goal of the day in the closing moments of the game. It was a well earned goal and the jubilation was ecstatic.

Congratulations to the team and to their 'manager' Mr. Coughlan.

The Captain Loz Ford receives the "honours" from the team.
