It was on a wet and overcast afternoon, on the last day of term, that the Middlesex Cup final had been scheduled to be played. Transport in the form of the school minibus and a convoy of staff cars ensured our prompt arrival. Some enthusiastic boys had cycled down from Harrow to lend their support. |
Periods of sluggishness still punctuated the play but with victory in our grasp and a large turnout of vociferous supporters the Salvos were spurred on to score the winning goal of the day in the closing moments of the game. It was a well earned goal and the jubilation was ecstatic.
Congratulations to the team and to their 'manager' Mr. Coughlan.
