Judo
A Brief Introduction To How It's Done

Judo is a fighting sport, calling for courage and endurance, but it also teaches both mental and physical control.

The Judo in our school is held every Wednesday from one o'clock until a quarter to two. The mats which are made from a lining of canvas and underneath, rubber, are very hard.

The first thing we learned in judo was the breakfalls - these are falls that prevent you hurting yourself when thrown. Then we learned some holds - the holds are very important because this is the way you get points but the opponent must always be on his back.
