Pilgrimage To Lourdes - Easter 1977
Handicapped Children's Pilgimage Trust

For many years the boys of the school, and many other friends, have supported the above Trust in its efforts to take handicapped children to Lourdes. Support has taken the form of (a) active participation - with Sixth Formers going along as helpers - at their own expense - and (b) by the collection of Green Shield Stamps, which have then been redeemed for cash.

In this year's Pilgrimage, 1092 children from all over the country were taken to Lourdes. The appeal in the School brought in 612 books, cash donations of £60.50 and two offers of sponsorship all of which enabled us to cover the, cost of sending 9 children - three of whom travelled with us.

Once again we would like to ask you for your help and suggest the following ways :

1 By sending a book or books of Green Shield stamps to Mr Hartin (Form IA).

2 By sending a donation, however small, marked H C P T to the Headmaster.

3 By nominating a handicapped child or sponsoring one.

For 1977 Pilgrimage It took £89 or 148 books to cover the cost of sending a child, and the collection will start in January. If you know of a child who might be able to go on this pilgrimage please nominate. We would be only too delighted to take any child - but can only do so if we know about them. It will cost you nothing - except the little effort involved in nominating.

Many thanks for all your help and support in the past.

Father Louis Preston
