1ST XV The second success of the team was against Salvatorian College ... The opposition here were also more spirited and equally willing to push against us. Our defensive play left a lot to be desired, especially ... when a player managed to by-pass four players and score' This quote from an opposition school magazine illustrates the high regard the 1st XV command. If points were awarded for determination and effort, then it is fair to say that the team's record would have been even better. |

COLTS
The colts have been gathering momentum as they have been going through the season. The difficulties of boys from two age groups forming a combined team are slowly being overcome.
The season began with a defeat but it was a victory for the boys. They reduced a 60 point defeat last season to a 14 point defeat. The confidence of the boys increased and they had their first win against Vyners School. Vyners, it must be remembered, only play rugby this term and no football so their teams are at full strength. The colts have since won every match they have played making a total of three wins and two defeats this season.
All credit must be given to the boys for overcoming such difficulties as being unable to
train on grass and the decrease in training time due to the short nights. More boys are
becoming interested every week and we hope to improve the standards of rugby even further.
