The average man, of average build,
Who is but averagely skilled.
He is not real but purely typical,
He is a person hypothetical.
He has average height of five foot five,
An average deg of one sixth the size,
Average neighbour of whose goods he borrows,
Twice a year causing no sorrows.
He smokes his two and a quarter cigs a day,
And gambles £15 away.
He is a rare sight, not often seen,
An average man, in a magazine.
