Silver Birch
The silver birch, tall and spindly
Stretches out its inviting branches.
Its Lincoln-green leaves quiver in the light breeze,
Stretching out its frail branches
which could easily break in the lightest of winds.
Its long, slender trunk catches the sun
And beams a silver glow.
As the wind stirs up, its tall slender body
leans from side to side
Stretching its every sinew and contour
As it fights the elements
