1967 was a fantastic year. Marianne wore a fur rug with no bra or knickers. Mick was sent to prison. The Mars bar urban myth was born. They were doing it all together and I was doing not very much on my own.

I heard the myth whilst drinking in Jack Straw's Castle on the edge of Hampstead Heath. I bet it was Tim Brophy who told us. I think Tony Korek drove us there but I am not sure why I think this. Hoping in vain for some spare totty.

(According to the News of the Screws you could pick up a gay partner in the car park there before rushing off into the bushes, but this was news of the 'dog bites man' originality and only of interest if you were a homo as we used to say and we were all homophobic in those days.) ...
