Cricket Whites

I remember turning up for my first cricket experience at Salvos wearing all the whites my parents had purchased for me ... it looked like I had turned up for my first communion!!!

What was worse though, was, whilst dressed like a member of the 1940's test team, my total inability to play the game was obvious to all ... a series of (forged) notes from parents followed giving various reasons for me not being able to play cricket ... I wish now I had had the nerve to write on the lines of "my son is allergic to left arm spinners" or even "Marc has a cold today and fielding at silly mid-on would only make him worse..."
