Knocked Out!

While playing hockey once I was hit by a stick and knocked unconscious.

It was in a hockey pitch near Headstone Lane. Fr Louis was the referee and when I recovered he sent me - unaccompanied - on a bus - to Harrow Hospital to have my seven stitches and a tetanus jab.

No one even asked if I was ok. I can't believe I sat on the bus in my hockey kit, holding a handkerchief to my head, bleeding, and no one from the school came with me.

But it made us tough didn't it. Sort of.
(Louis Robinson 62-67)
