Fr Ignatius used to come along side as you were painting, pinch that little bit of hair by your ear and shout, "Don't smudge!" The pain he could inflict in that one move; obviously very practised. Other times I remember him whacking you on the head with the board rubber. Wooden side for very bad, duster side for not so bad. Many times someone's head would disappear in a cloud of white chalk dust. |
